Area children find Scoop Reporter

Scoop Reporter was spotted hiding among advertisements in last week’s Voices by the following six winners who are this week’s Honorary Cub Reporters and are eligible to receive free ice cream. This was the last week of the contest.

Congratulations to:

Jimmie Morris, 12, who attends Shaw Middle School and is the son of Ruth Eddy and Jim Morris. Jimmie found Scoop on page 4 of the North Side Voice.

Luke Guin, 8, who attends Mullan Road Elementary, spotted Scoop on page 4 of the South Side Voice. He is the son of Jodi and John Guin.

Byron Lamoreux, 12, who attends Centennial Middle School and is the son of Todd Lamoreux, found Scoop on page 8 of the Valley Voice.

Claire Holding, 4, who lives in Post Falls and is the daughter of Kirk and Amy Holding, spotted Scoop on page 4 of the Prairie Voice.

Isaiah Pope, 4, who lives in Spokane Valley, found Scoop at Grandma Barbara Anderson’s home in Cheney on page 5 of the West Plains Voice.

Susan Pickens, 4, who is the daughter of Lee and Heidi Pickens, spotted Scoop on page 6 of Saturday’s Valley Voice.

Animal blessing today at SCRAPS

Spokane County Regional Animal Protection Service of Spokane is holding a Blessing of the Animals today, from noon to 2 p.m. at the SCRAPS Animal Shelter, 2521 N. Flora Road.

The event is a countywide procession of cat, dogs and other pets and their owners done in remembrance of St. Francis Assisi’s love for all animals.

Chamber lunch to feature Sam Reed

Washington Secretary of State Sam Reed will address the Greater Spokane Valley Chamber of Commerce’s annual meeting Wednesday.

The 11:30 a.m. luncheon at Decades Banquet Facility at the University City Shopping Center, behind Percy’s Cafe Americana, will be open to the public. Tickets cost $30 apiece or $210 for a table of eight.

Golf scramble to benefit Ferris

Ferris High School will hold its Senior All-Nighter Best-Ball Golf Scramble next Saturday at 11 a.m. at Esmeralda Golf Course, 3933 E. Courtland Ave.

Four player and individuals are needed for the first of many All-Nighter fundraising events.

The cost is $75 and includes golf, a cart, contest and appetizers at Twigs on South Regal after the scramble.
