Mount Hood Railroad back on track

Associated Press

HOOD RIVER, Ore. – The Mount Hood Railroad is running again in the Hood River Valley after a two-year, $1 million repair project to fix part of the track washed out by flooding in 2006.

A new dome car was added in the process. The railroad began bringing fruit and timber products to market in the area in 1906 and was used for a time as a commuter line. It began as a tourist attraction about 20 years ago. It runs from Hood River to the base of Mount Hood.
