Ex-WSU student testifies in rape case

BY JOEL MILLS Lewiston Tribune

COLFAX – The former Washington State University student who pleaded guilty to raping a fellow student last year testified Thursday against the adult film actor he said committed the act with him, Christopher Jack Reid.

Kyle Schott, who is serving a 13-month prison sentence, told a Whitman County jury Reid took the lead on the morning of Sept. 13, 2007, in a series of break-ins at WSU sororities.

He said he assumed Reid was looking for women to have sex with after he boasted all night about his movies and his abilities to seduce women.

After drinking at a bar and at a house party on Ruby Street, Schott said, Reid wanted to go to sororities in search of women.

They ended up at the Kappa Alpha Theta sorority, where they entered through a window, Schott said.

They went to a room where they could see light from a television coming through a cracked door, Schott said, and Reid pushed open the door. “There was a female sleeping on the floor in a semi-fetal position, facing left,” Schott said.

He said he and Reid lay down next to the sleeping woman. “I could tell he was rubbing her with his hands and his body.”

Reid asked for a condom, Schott gave him one, and Reid continued to molest the woman, according to the testimony.

The woman testified earlier she awakened to see Reid behind her, and felt something penetrating her. She testified she didn’t see Schott’s face.

Reid’s attorney, Chris Bugbee, is scheduled to begin his cross-examination at 9 a.m. today.
