Freeman downs Lakeside in rout

Senior Luke Mathews completed 10 of 13 passes for 193 yards and four touchdowns and the Freeman Scotties took control of the Northeast A League race with a 47-6 thrashing of the Lakeside (Nine Mile Falls) Eagles Friday night at Freeman.

Mathews also ran for a score and kicked five PATs for the Scotties (6-1, 3-0).

Lakeside fell to 5-3, 2-1.

Chewelah 55, Kettle Falls 6: At Chewelah, Russ Whitley ran for 139 yards and three scores to lead the Cougars (4-3, 2-1) past the Bulldogs (2-6, 2-3).

Great Northern League

Pullman 31, West Valley 6: At Pullman, Cody Weber ran for 86 yards and two touchdowns and Cody Peterson threw for two more to give the Greyhounds (6-2, 4-1) the win over the Eagles (5-3, 2-3).

Cheney 16, Riverside 14: Max Harris kicked three field goals – the last one from 47 yards to win it – and the Blackhawks (5-3, 3-2) held off the Rams (2-6, 0-5).

Colville 28, Clarkston 21 (2OT): At Colville, Dustin Divis scored in the second overtime and the Indians (5-3, 3-2) intercepted a Bantams (3-5, 3-2) pass to preserve the victory.

Deer Park 30, Medical Lake 7: Brandon Leliefield scored twice and the visiting Stags (7-1, 4-1) beat the Cardinals (1-6, 1-4).

Inland Empire 4A League

Sandpoint 22, Moscow 21: At Sandpoint, Ben Fisher ran for two touchdowns and threw a two-point conversion pass and the Bulldogs (4-4, 1-0) edged the Bears (6-2, 1-1).

Intermountain League

Priest River 41, St. Maries 8: At Priest River, Brian Nelson had 141 yards rushing and one TD to lead the Spartans (5-3, 3-2) past the Lumberjacks (2-6, 2-3).

Orofino 29, Bonners Ferry 0: At Orofino, the Maniacs (5-3, 4-1) clinched the league title with a win over the Badgers (2-6, 0-5). Orofino hosts No. 4 Kellogg next weekend in the first-round of the playoffs.

Timberlake 35, Kellogg 7: The Tigers (4-4, 4-1) beat the Wildcats (3-5, 2-3) at Kellogg. No. 2 Timberlake hosts No. 3 Priest River on Friday.

Northeast 2B League

Republic 12, Springdale 10: At Springdale, Scott Bacon had 106 yards rushing and a score to lead the Tigers (2-4, 2-3) past the Chargers (3-5, 1-4).

Reardan 37, Davenport 12: Chase Bell rushed for 110 yards and a TD and passed for another as the Indians (6-1, 4-0) beat the Gorillas (2-4, 1-3) at Davenport.

Southeast 2B League

DeSales 21, Garfield-Palouse 7: The Irish (6-2, 5-0) scored all of their points in the first quarter and cruised past the Vikings (6-1, 4-1).

Tekoa-Oakesdale/Rosalia 35, Liberty Christian 14: Zach St. John rushed for 112 yards and two TDs on 28 carries and caught two scoring passes as the Nighthawks (1-5, 1-4) beat the visiting Patriots (0-8, 0-5).

Asotin 48, Waitsburg-Prescott 16: The visiting Panthers (7-1, 5-0) beat the Cardinals (2-5, 2-3).

Northeast 1B League

Columbia 58, Waterville 12: At Hunters, Paul Larrew had four touchdowns – two rushing and two receiving – to lead the host Lions (6-2, 6-2) past the Shockers (3-4, 1-2).

Inchelium 56, Curlew 6: At Inchelium, Dillon Wolf ran for two touchdowns to help the Hornets (5-3, 5-3) past the Cougars (1-7, 1-7).

Pateros 66, Sprague-Harrington 20: Ben Hoffman ran for four TDs to lead the visiting Billygoats (3-5, 3-4) over the Falcons (0-8, 0-8).

Cusick 51, Wellpinit 6: At Wellpinit, Spencer Shanholzer threw for three TDs and ran for another as the Panthers (8-0, 8-0) routed the Redskins (1-7, 1-6).

Almira/Coulee-Hartline 42, Wilbur-Creston 20: Shawn Dahlenburg scored three times to lead the visiting Warriors (6-2, 5-1) past the Wildcats (3-5, 3-5).

Southeast 1B League

LaCrosse-Washtucna 36, Tri-Cities Prep 30: Justin Aune hit Garrett Blauert with a 40-yard scoring strike with 3 seconds remaining to give the host Tigercats (7-0, 3-0) a win over the Jaguars (6-1, 2-1) in a battle of unbeatens. Blauert had 37 carries for 231 yards and two TDs besides his game-winning reception.

Lyle/Wishram/Klickitat 34, Colton/Pullman Christian 26: At Colton, Henry Matai stopped the Wildcats’ (4-4, 1-3) Sam Robertson at the 1-yard line to preserve the Cougars’ (4-4, 2-1) victory. Robertson had 170 total yards for CPC.

North Star League

Wallace 78, Mullan 28: At Wallace, Jordan Benz ran for six TDs and three two-point conversions to lead the Miners (6-1, 6-1) past the Tigers (2-6, 2-6).

Kootenai 46, Clark Fork 0: At Harrison, the host Warriors (8-0, 7-0) ran back two interceptions for TDs and also returned a kickoff for another in a win over the Wampus Cats (0-7, 0-7).

Non-league

Colfax 35, Liberty JV 13: Joe Cammack ran for 155 yards and three touchdowns to lead the Bulldogs (7-0) past the Lancers at Colfax. Colfax played Liberty’s JV after picking up a forfeit league win over Selkirk, which did not have enough players to field a team.

Post Falls 28, Lakeland 14: At Rathdrum, the Trojans (3-5) raced out to a 28-point lead and held on to win.

Valley Christian 58, Manson 20: Brad Haden and Drew Swank combined for seven rushing TDs in the Panthers’ first victory of the season, a home win over the Trojans.

Lewiston 48, Capital 28: The fourth-ranked Bengals (8-0) downed the No. 2 Eagles at Lewiston.
