Bargains await savvy real estate investors

Land at Low Prices

Metro Services

The housing market nationwide has definitely taking its share of hits. So, many are asking, what is safe to buy to take advantage of bargain prices?

Some financial predictors say land. Experts say that land prices will increase when the U.S. economy rebounds. That means that investors who got in on the low end with land purchases could see some major profits in time.

This is becoming so apparent that foreign investors are already zeroing in on U.S. real estate as a way to make some money in the near future.

Land is also a long-term investment option that could offer payoffs for those who want to retire in 10 years or so and be able to have their assets stretch out decades beyond.

Now may also be the time to purchase that home you’ve had your eye on. There is plenty of inventory, and interest rates are very competitive. If you qualify for a conventional mortgage (lenders are scaling back on the more colorful lending options due to the sub-prime bust), you may be able to buy more of a home for less money.

There is no concrete prediction to what lay ahead in the near future for the real estate market. Before investing in land or purchasing a home as prices continue to drop, consult with a financial consultant, REALTOR® or your personal accountant to ensure your decision will be financially viable.
