Ethicist speaks on global water crisis
Spokane City Forum will present its first luncheon on Wednesday from 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Spokane First Presbyterian Church, 318 S. Cedar St.
This month’s speaker will be Gary Chamberlain, a professor and ethicist from Seattle University. He will speak on the topic “Water Wars – the Global Water Crisis.”
The cost to attend is $10 and includes lunch. Students will be admitted for $5, and child care will be available for $4.

Peace and Healing Fair
The Unity Church of Truth, 2900 S. Bernard St., will host the International Association of Medical Intuitives Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The organization will present a holistic Peace and Healing Fair.
The event will include medical intuitives, massage therapists, pranic healers, chiropractors, tarot card readers, books, supplies and more.

Seminars and classes
•The Spokane Buddhist Temple, 927 S. Perry St., will present a Mindfulness Meditation Seminar Sept. 20 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Bhante Seelawimala, a Therevada monk from Sri Lanka, will lead the class.

•Moran United Methodist Church, 3601 E. 65th, will present a new Sunday School program starting Sunday at 9:30 a.m.
Students will study the Bible through a course that lasts three years and includes different activities for different age groups including infants, preschool, grade school, junior high and high school, and adults.
The church will present its worship service after the classes at 10:30 a.m.

•New Hope Church, 3110 W. Francis Ave., will present clubs for boys and girls in grades one through eight.
Girls Everywhere Meeting the Savior is a club for girls that includes a special class for seventh- and eighth-graders on Bible teachings in today’s society. The girls also will get lessons on discovering inner beauty.
Cadets, the boys’ club, discusses helping boys grow spiritually in all areas of their lives.
The meetings will be from 6:30 to 8 p.m. beginning Sept. 24 and will alternate Wednesdays at the church. For more information, call the church office at 325-4882.
