Conditions no better on N.Cleveland Road

Kudos to Mark Wilson (Vocal Point, Sept. 4) for getting such a well-written and meaningful letter published in the North Side Voice edition. We have a similar problem on North Cleveland Road.

To avoid continual and devastating vibration while driving over the road, it can take speeds up to 40 mph to minimize, not eliminate, constant shaking and slipping over the washboard conditions. Such speeds, of course, raise dust clouds as described by Mr. Wilson.

Thus far, two inquiries have been made in writing to the Spokane County Commissioners re: simple seal coating; no response, or reply, even derogatory. Direct contact with the county Engineering Department resulted in receipt of paperwork, tell us, the residents, to go around to all property owners and get approval before they could consider the request.

One wonders what they get paid for. The potholes on Spokane city streets would even be an improvement. I’m sure there are other county roads with similar conditions.

No question on who to vote for in the coming election. As our national politicos express, it’s time for a change.
