Homegrown Help
The Thrivent Homegrown Help Truck unloaded fresh produce Thursday at Spokane Valley Partners Food Bank, 10814 E. Broadway Ave.
A farmers’ market set up was used to distribute the produce to needy Spokane Valley residents.
The Northern Rocky Mountain Region of Thrivent Financial of Lutherans and Second Harvest of the Inland Northwest use the 24-foot refrigerated truck to provide produce to underserved communities in a timely manner.
Volunteers from Valley Lutheran churches and the Spokane Valley chapter of Thrivent Financial assisted in distribution.
Nearly 197,000 Inland Northwest residents receive emergency food assistant one or more times each year from Second Harvest’s network.
