Missing salesman located in Ferry County

A missing salesman called Ferry County officials this morning to let them know that he is fine after an encounter with a stubborn snow berm. Gregory Johnson, 48, called at 7:07 a.m. to say that he put too much faith in his GPS unit and got lost on a U.S. Forest Service road. His vehicle got stuck in a snow berm and he had to spend time digging out. He was last seen at 11 a.m. Monday near Curlew. He had planned to stop in Republic but never arrived. Johnson called the Ferry County Sheriff’s Office with his cell phone to alert authorities that he was fine and was driving southbound on U.S. Highway 395 toward Spokane, a dispatcher said.
