Post Falls driver dies in Coeur d’Alene crash

The Spokesman-Review
A 33-year-old Post Falls man was killed this morning in a one-car crash on the north side of Coeur d’Alene, according to Idaho State Police. The 5:30 a.m. accident occurred on U.S. Highway 95 just south of Prairie Avenue and slowed traffic through the area during the initial response by officers and emergency workers. Jamie A. Neverdahl, the driver, was traveling north on the highway when his 1999 Pontiac Grand Am crossed the median just south of Wilbur Avenue. The car traveled northbound in the southbound lanes for a few hundred yards before striking several trees along the embankment, police said. The vehicle came to rest on its top, and Neverdahl was ejected. He died at the scene. Officers initially did not indicate whether he was wearing a seat belt. The accident was under investigation late this morning. Police later said they are trying to locate the driver of one of two vehicles narrowly struck in the southbound lanes by Neverdahl’s vehicle just prior to the crash. Anyone with information about the identity of that driver is asked to call state police at (208) 772-8585.
