Grange hosting garden event

The Five Mile Prairie Grange, 3024 W. Strong Road, will host its third annual Spring Garden Day on Saturday, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Vendors will be selling flowers, plants and specialty patio and garden items, and local lawn, garden and landscape experts will be on hand.

$7,197 raised in teacher’s honor

Students and teachers at Rogers High School recently raised $7,197 for Vanessa Behan Crisis Nursery on behalf of the Terri Kim Community Benefit.

The fundraiser, in its third year, is held in memory of Kim, who was killed by her son at her Mt. Spokane home in December 2006.

In 2007, students and staff raised $3,000 for the Union Gospel Mission.
