Three things we’ll be talking about this week
1. It’ll be busy on the concert scene. The Festival at Sandpoint’s first weekend includes shows from Poco, Blues Traveler and Boz Skaggs. Peter Frampton hits Northern Quest Casino on Thursday, while The Fray land at the INB Performing Arts Center on Friday, and Los Lonely Boys play the Knitting Factory on Sunday.
2. If art is your thing, the First Friday Artwalk in downtown Spokane might be the ticket. The monthly event includes not only visual arts, but live entertainment in addition to wine tasting and dining options. Most venues will be open from 5 to 8 p.m. For details, go to www.downtownspokane.org/first-friday.php.
3. On Tuesday, Spokane neighborhoods will join with neighborhoods nationwide in hosting Night Out Against Crime events. The gatherings include block parties, flashlight walks and cookouts. The goal: to strengthen neighborhood connections, help prevent crime and improve police-community relationships.
