Boston’s Kevin Youkilis charged the mound after being hit with a pitch, throwing his helmet at Detroit pitcher Rick Porcello and tackling him before the benches and bullpens poured onto the field Tuesday night at Boston.

Order was restored minutes later without any punches thrown, but Youkilis and Porcello were ejected in the second inning. Porcello turned back to scream at the umpire as he left the field.

Red Sox manager Terry Francona was ejected later in the inning for arguing about a play at second base.

Moyer lashes out

Philadelphia pitcher Jamie Moyer lashed out at team management, saying he felt “misled” by the club and “disheartened” by its decision to demote him to the bullpen.

Moyer, formerly with Seattle, was dropped from the rotation to make room for Pedro Martinez, set to return to the majors when he starts tonight against the Chicago Cubs.

Moyer, 46, sat in the stands behind the Phillies’ first-base dugout at Wrigley Field and addressed the media.

“I feel a little disheartened,” he said. “I feel a little bit like I’ve been misled. I feel like I’ve played this game long enough that the respect factor should be there.”

Grimsley attends

Former pitcher Jason Grimsley, a key figure in the federal investigation of steroids in baseball, met with prosecutors at the Washington courthouse where a grand jury is looking into whether Roger Clemens lied to Congress.

A former Houston-area gym owner also was at the federal courthouse, giving testimony in the probe into whether Clemens misled a congressional committee last year when he denied under oath using steroids or human growth hormone.
