In brief: Fashion, variety show takes stage tonight

DOWNTOWN – The group Models For Awareness will host “The House of Penitence,” an interactive fashion and variety show, at the Masonic Temple, 1108 W. Riverside Ave., today at 7:30 p.m.

Tickets are a $10 donation. Proceeds benefit the Steps of Faith Missions, based in Dallas.

Moonlight golf tournament planned

CHENEY – Cheney Parks and Recreation will hold its Second Annual Moonlight Golf Tournament Sept. 11 at the Fairways at West Terrace, 9810 W. Melville Road, Cheney.

Registration deadline is Aug. 28, and only 18 teams of four will be accepted. The $40 per person or $160 per team fee will include dinner, greens fee, glow ball and necklace. Extra glow balls will be available for purchase.

The evening kicks off with dinner and check-in at 6:30 p.m.; tee-off will be at 7:45 p.m. Golfers should wear walking shoes because no carts are allowed at night.

Proceeds will go toward payments on a recently purchased shuttle bus.
