Gonzaga opens with win

Gonzaga’s women’s soccer team opened its season with a 3-0 win over Montana at the Gonzaga Soccer Field on Sunday.

Lori Conrad scored and had an assist for the Bulldogs. Jessie Sorenson and Kelsey Werre both added goals as Gonzaga beat the Grizzlies for the seventh consecutive time.

Jessie Thalman made one save in the first half for the Bulldogs. Amy Danielson played the second half and also made one save.

•The Idaho women’s soccer team allowed a second-half goal in a 1-0 loss to Seattle University in Seattle.

The Vandals had a goal waved off and weren’t able to convert a penalty kick.

Liz Boyden stopped four shots for Idaho.
