Teens accused of beating man, 60, in alley

Two teenagers have been arrested in connection with the beating of a 60-year-old man who was found unresponsive in an alley. Two 17-year-old boys face first-degree assault charges in juvenile court. The victim remains hospitalized in critical condition and is unresponsive police said. Officers found him unconscious in a pool of blood in an alley near Bridge Avenue and Nettleton Street in West Spokane after they responded to a report of a fight about 10:30 p.m. Sunday. Major crimes detectives and members of the gang enforcement team arrested the boys late Monday afternoon, police said today. The boys live near the crime scene. Police don’t think weapons were used in the assault, and they don’t know what led to the fight.
