Santa, district will visit neighborhoods

Donations will be collected for Mead food bank

Firefighters and staff of Spokane County Fire District 9 plan to accompany Santa while he visits the district’s neighborhoods during the weeks leading up to Christmas.

They plan to hand out goodies to kids and collect nonperishable food donations for the Mead food bank.

Santa’s schedule is as follows:

On Friday, with the help of Station 92, from 6-9 p.m., Santa will visit Mead west of Market Street, excluding Mead Royale Manufactured Home Community, north of Florence Avenue, east of Wilson Street and south of Center Street.

On Saturday, from 4-9 p.m., he’ll be in Mead, east of Market Street, including areas south of Center Street, west of Fairview Road, east of Parksmith Drive and north of Red Roan Drive, including Stoneman Road, also with Station 92.

From 6-9 p.m. on Dec. 10, Station 92 and Santa will visit the Forest Glen and Shady Slope developments, including areas on the north side of Farwell and Hastings roads. On Dec. 11, Station 92 and Santa will visit all sections of Mead Royale Manufactured Home Community. He will be in front of Fat Daddy’s at Wandermere Plaza, along with the folks from Station 91, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and in the Camelot neighborhood from 6-9 p.m. on Dec. 12, with Station 92.

On Dec. 15, from 5-8 p.m., Santa will visit any areas he may have had to skip due to an alarm or inclement weather, with the help of Station 92.

On Dec. 18, from 5-9 p.m., Santa will be visiting the Linwood area; Division Street to Wall Street and Francis Avenue to Wedgewood Avenue, with Station 95. And, with the help of Station 97, he’ll be visiting the Nine Mile Falls area beginning at 6 p.m. from Station 97 to Inch Road, down Charles Road to Highland Road, back to Katie and Maybob roads, to Birdie Road, to Bluegrass Road, to the end of West Shore Road, back past Station 97, down Charles Road to Southbank and Waterview Drive.

On Dec. 19, Santa will be at Station 93, located at 9915 W. Charles Road, from 6-8 p.m., ready for visitors. Members of Station 95 and Santa will visit the Linwood area; this time from Wall Street to Country Homes Boulevard and Francis Avenue to Westmont Way, from 4:30-9 p.m. Santa and Station 96 will be at Scribner Road and Forker Road starting at 6:15 p.m., at Foothills Road and Forker at 6:30 p.m., at Temple Road and Forker at 6:45 p.m., at Lincoln Road and Forker at 7 p.m., and at Judkins Road and Forker at 7:15 p.m. And, Santa and the folks of Station 98 will be in the Morgan Acres neighborhood beginning at 4:45 p.m., starting on the east side of the railroad tracks.

On Dec. 20, Station 95 and Santa will visit the Five Mile area south of Strong Road from 4:30-9 p.m.

And, on Dec. 21, Santa and the members of Station 95 will visit the Five Mile area north of Strong Road from 5-9 p.m.
