In brief: Nonprofit needs gift donations

From Local Reports

SPOKANE VALLEY – Spokane Valley Partners sent out an SOS for its Season of Sharing gift-giving program this week. The annual effort is critically low on Christmas gifts for low-income children and teens whose families register to receive the gifts.

Last year’s event gave presents to 1,243 children in 434 families. So far this year 788 families have registered for gifts, and organizers are scrambling to collect toys and other gifts for an estimated 2,000-plus children. Donations of new, unwrapped gifts and stocking stuffers for all ages are needed.

Gifts and cash donations may be dropped off by next Saturday at Spokane Valley Partners at 10814 E. Broadway Ave., Spokane Valley fire stations, Modern Electric, Vera Water and Power and Valley Self Storage. Call (509) 927-1153 for more information.
