Broken water main blocking road

Broadway at Pines Road is blocked due to a broken water main, the Washington State Patrol is reporting. Water is frozen over at least the northbound lane of Pines, after a pipe began leaking about 12:45 p.m., WSP said. The state Department of Transportation was on the way to clear the ice about 5 p.m., a WSP dispatcher said. It isn’t known when the road will be reopen. Crews estimated at 1 p.m. it would take about five hours to fix the main and clear the road, but now the road may be blocked until about 9 p.m., officials said.
