New faces

Christine Kemp has been hired as an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner for Cancer Care Northwest’s south office. She previously worked as a nurse practitioner and breast specialist for Spokane Breast Center for six years.

Campbell, Bissell and Kirby, PLLC has hired Roderick Bond, as counsel, and Erik Thorliefson as a new associate. Bond is admitted to practice law in the State of Washington, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals and Idaho’s state and federal courts. He holds a bachelor’s in political science from Washington State University and a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Washington School of Law. Thorliefson holds bachelor’s in political science and criminal justice, served as an infantry officer in the U.S. Marine Corps and holds a Juris Doctor degree from Gonzaga University School of Law. He is admitted to practice in Washington’s state and federal courts.

Mercile Goes and Al Durant have been hired as sales associates for Windermere Real Estate’s Hayden branch. Goes previously worked for Pioneer Title for 20 years and is an experienced escrow officer. Durant has 30 years of general building and contracting experience and is a skilled carpenter.

Spokane Teachers Credit Union has hired Michelle Kurimura-Miller as manager for the company’s North Branch. She has more than 14 years of experience working in financial institutions.

Courtney Garcea has been hired as an associate for the law firm of Etter, McMahon, Clary and Oreskovich, P.C. She is a graduate of Gonzaga University School of Law. Her practice will include civil litigation and criminal defense.

Kudos

Pete Kerwien has received the Inland Northwest Partners’ Hall of Fame Award for his contributions to economic development in Spokane. Prior to his retirement, Kerwien worked as director of economic development for Avista Utilities.

The following Inland Northwest nurses were recognized by the Inland Northwest Chapter of the American Association of Critical Nurses during the organization’s annual CCRN/PCCN Recognition and Awards Dinner: Circle of Excellence in Collaboration Award, Heidi Cooper of Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center; Circle of Excellence in Caring Practices Award, Sam Smith of Deaconess Medical Center; Circle of Excellence in Clinical Practices Award, Mike Kaley of Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center; President’s Award, Joni Dirks of Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center; Flame Awards, Sarah Cournyea and Michelle Dearden of Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center and Elaine Rosato of Deaconess Medical Center.

Carlyn Shaffer of Hayden, Idaho, has received a Child Development Associate credential from the Council for Professional Recognition in Washington, D.C., for outstanding work with young children.

The American College of Bryn Mawr, Pa., has presented Bonita Bell-Andersen, of Bell-Andersen Financial Services, LLC in Spokane Valley, with its Chartered Life Underwriter professional designation.
