Fairfield City Council – The council heard a presentation on the Spokane County Comprehensive Solid Waste Management Plan, which it voted to adopt. There was also a discussion on possibly adding recycling. The town recently received a $5,000 grant from the Inland Northwest Community Foundation for additional exit doors at the Community Center. The council voted to approve a renewal of the contract with Fire District 2, which includes a 2.5 percent increase in rates. An ordinance was passed that will allow the town to accept donations for the 2010 Fairfield/Liberty reunion and the 2010 Flag Day celebration. (Source: Town clerk Cheryl Loeffler)

Rockford City Council – The council held its final public hearing on the 2010 budget, which was then approved. Council members also voted to approve an automatic first response agreement between Fire District 11 and the town of Rockford. (Source: Town clerk)
