Response in kind

The Spokesman-Review

Gentlemen, as two Gonzaga fans of 25-plus years each, we felt compelled to reply to your criticisms (Letters, Dec. 13).

First of all, David Greaves, Wake Forest players were manhandling our team from the tipoff and rarely with any foul calls.

After being hit and jabbed himself at least four times by that “defenseless” player you mentioned, it seemed to be more of a frustrated, bewildered, “guess this is how these guys play” kind of response from Elias (Harris), rather than any kind of “assault.”

And as for Coach Mark Few resigning, or Elias being suspended – oh, please.

It was a very frustrating game for GU players, coaches and fans (which aren’t all young, dumb and blood-thirsty, just so you know)! Coach Few has done more for this program (and ultimately Gonzaga University) than any one person for many years. Pretty sure his philosophy has nothing to do with “hooliganism” or violence, but he does stick up for his players when they are being harassed.

Sorry this has left such bad tastes in your mouths – don’t let the doors of the MAC hit you on your way out – sure you’ll be missed.
