Armed man robs Spokane Valley store

A robber with a shotgun held up a Zip Trip store at 1421 N. Pines Road early Tuesday but fled with only a handful of cash, Spokane Valley police said.

The robber held the shotgun in both hands but did not point it at the clerk, who gave up the money about 2 a.m. The robber fled south.

The robber was described as white, 20 to 25 years old, 5 feet 8 inches tall and about 150 pounds. He wore a black hooded jacket, dark pants, gloves and a piece of clothing around his lower face. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Check at (509) 456-2233.
