Ferris jumps out early in victory over Tigers
Chris Wilson’s 14 points led the Ferris boys basketball team and the Saxons (2-3, 1-2) jumped out quickly with 19 points in the first quarter to beat Lewis and Clark (2-3, 1-2) 50-39 in Greater Spokane League action Tuesday at LC.
With the game almost even the rest of the way, the Saxons took advantage of 8-of-14 shooting in the opening frame to build an eight-point lead they held despite Levi Taylor’s 18 points leading the Tigers’ comeback in the second half.

Post Falls 73, Central Valley 61: Shawn Reid tallied a double-double with 22 points and 13 rebounds, Connor Hill added 19 points and the Trojans (5-1) turned an early 10-0 lead in the first quarter into a 17-point halftime lead to handle the Bears (3-4) at Central Valley.
Rogers 80, Lakeside (Nine Mile Falls) 43: Dillon Franklin used just three quarters to score a game-high 21 points to lead the Pirates (5-3) over the Eagles (4-4) at Rogers. Donovan McIver added 14 points for the Pirates, who scored 54 points in the second and third quarters to take control of the contest.
Deer Park 75, Newport 60: Colton and Kendall Peone each scored 17 points for the Stags (2-2) and Zach Mohr scored 16 points with four 3-pointers against the Grizzlies (2-5) in Newport. The Stags tallied 15 offensive rebounds, winning the battle on the boards 75 to 60. Clint Hunt scored 30 for the Grizzlies in the loss.
Chewelah 70, Springdale 32: The Cougars (7-2) opened their game against the Chargers (6-2) by pouring in five 3-pointers and scoring 27 points en route to the win in Springdale. Josh Christian and Blaze Smith each tallied 16 points for the Cougars.
Asotin 58, LaCrosse-Washtucna 28: Ben Servatius scored 17 points on 6-of-10 shooting and the visiting Panthers (4-2) scored 19 points in the second quarter off nine turnovers by the Tigercats (3-4) to build a 16-point lead by halftime.
Liberty 53, Almira/Coulee-Hartline 50: Stefan Plesser scored the last five points for the Lancers (1-5) in overtime to lead them to their first win of the season against the Warriors (4-3) in Liberty. Derek Isaak scored 24 for the Warriors, helping them battle back from a 12-point deficit in the fourth quarter.
Rosalia 66, Cusick 40: Jim Maley scored 17, Nathan Richards added 16 and the duo scored 14 of the Spartans’ (8-0) 21 points in the first quarter to beat the Panthers (5-2) in Cusick.
Lake Roosevelt 97, Bridgeport 63: Cade Egbert scored 26 points and dished out five assists while Ty Egbert added 20 points and eight rebounds for the Raiders in their win against the Mustangs in Lake Roosevelt.
Genesee 69, Colton 58: Alan Berry had 23 points and Sam Hermann added 21 to lead the Bulldogs past the Wildcats (2-2) in Colton.
Panorama League
Selkirk 63, Northport 54: Hunter Enyeart scored 19 points to lead the Rangers (7-3, 5-1) over the Mustangs (2-7, 0-6) in Northport. The Mustangs shot 16 of 19 from the free-throw line to stay within striking distance, but the Rangers created separation with a 23-12 third quarter.
Wellpinit 66, St. George’s 63: Cody Flett’s 32 points and 11 rebounds and Kennedy Seyler’s 27 points carried the Redskins (7-2, 4-0) over the Dragons (4-3, 3-1), who missed a potential game-tying 3-point basket in the waning seconds of the game to fall short in Wellpinit.

Lind-Ritzville 85, Valley Christian 37: James Stevenson scored 19 of his 21 points in the first half and Bryce Hilzer added 17 points for the Broncos (5-1, 3-0) against the host Panthers (1-5, 0-2).
Colfax 62, Davenport 57: James Robinson led all scorers with 20 points, doing most of his work at the free-throw line, hitting 11 of 12 for the Bulldogs (3-1, 2-1) in their win over the Gorillas (6-1, 2-1) in Colfax.
Northwest Christian 48, Reardan 38: Cole Ramsey led three players in double figures with 13 points and the Crusaders (6-2, 2-0) outlasted the Indians (2-4, 0-3) after building a 17-4 lead after one quarter in Reardan.
