No end to Avista’s greed

The Spokesman-Review

With the exception of the Wall Street fiasco and the Bush/Cheney administration of the past eight years, I have never seen such greed as that displayed by Avista Corp. Even with the economy being in its worst condition in decades, Avista believes they have the right to ask for more money every month from people who simply cannot afford it. Avista knows they have a monopoly and they are choosing to take full advantage of it.

As far as I’m concerned, every top-paid executive and the CEO should be totally and completely ashamed of their actions. I’m wondering how they can even look in the mirror. People with a conscience could not and would not do this to others.

It will be interesting to see how much longer Avista Corp. will be allowed to “have their way” with the good people of Spokane and the surrounding areas. I’m wondering when someone with some true clout and business ethics is going to tell Avista that they cannot legally raise their rates again for at least five years.

Come on, guys, give us a break!
