Government can’t create wealth

The Spokesman-Review

When will the government spending stop? Billions spent today in the name of job creation and economic stimulus will have to be repaid someday. It’s time for Congress to realize the government can’t create jobs. It just takes money from you, me and businesses and spends that money (often inefficiently) to provide services rarely that make any money back. The government can’t create wealth – it just transfers it.

Thank you to the lawmakers like Cathy McMorris Rodgers who realize spending billions today will do little, if anything, to grow our economy tomorrow. Instead of spending tax dollars, let’s urge other lawmakers to let us keep more of our money so we can spend it how we like and grow the economy in the process.
