Raid nets pounds of pot
Sat., Feb. 14, 2009
Detectives assigned to the Spokane County Sheriff’s Investigative Support Unit raided a suspect’s apartment about 4:45 p.m. Tuesday and seized five pounds of marijuana he had locked inside a safe, said spokesman Sgt. Dave Reagan.
Arrested in the raid was 20-year-old Jerad J. Kynaston. He was booked into the Spokane County Jail on a felony count of possession of marijuana with intent to deliver.
Spokane Valley police officers had been to the apartment complex at 1723 N. Union Road earlier in February after a witness reported smelling the odor of marijuana coming from Kynaston’s apartment.
ISU investigators executed a search warrant and found the five pounds of dope plus related drug sales paraphernalia and a stun gun.
An ISU spokesman said Wednesday that investigation of Kynaston’s drug activities continues and that more arrests are likely in the future.
