Police are searching for a robbery suspect in downtown Spokane. The man allegedly stole three rings from a jewelry store before fleeing. He reportedly had a gun in his belt. Shortly after 1 p.m. police responded to Argentum Aurum, 524 W. Main Ave., said Spokane police Officer Mike McCasland. The thief was described as a 30- to 40-year-old man standing 6-foot-7 wearing a tan beanie, a red wool jacket and tan pants with a pocked face and no facial hair, according to police. Store employees said he did not point a gun at them, but one was seen in his belt. Police are investigating whether a toy gun found a short time later in the Parkade across the street from the store is the same one seen in the man’s belt. Police also have searched several blocks near the Parkade and the 500 block of West Main, McCasland said.
