Valley Fire – Commissioners discussed the levy election results. Interviews with training officer candidates will be coming up soon. Bids were opened for a new rescue pumper truck; only one bid was received. (Source: Administrative director Debbie Cox)

Fire District 8 – Commissioner Gregory Hesse was selected to serve as board chair and Lee Boling as vice-chair for 2009. The commissioners voted to extend the salary continuation period for a full-time district employee who is currently serving on active duty in the military. Fairfield City Council – The town’s sidewalk project is in the design phase and bids will be solicited in March. A representative from Century West updated the council on several projects.
