Another Lake City Rentals

Five Inland Northwest guys who became partners in the equipment and event rental business a few years ago have opened a second location, this one in Spokane Valley.

Co-owners Brett Haiar, Chaus Fleury, Craig Buttrey, Mike MaComber and Mike Siegfried opened Lake City Rental along Broadway near the Interstate 90 exit at Barker Road in November. The team opened their first location in Hayden, Idaho, in 2005 after the local rental company they had worked for was sold.

Now, from concessions and jump castles, to tents and tables, and from lawn mowers to excavators, the group is hopeful their investment closer in the Spokane market will not go unnoticed during the spring and summer garden, wedding and construction season.

“I think it’s still a great investment,” said Haiar, the youngest of the five partners and a 1997 University High School graduate, speaking of the current economy. “We’re optimistic people are still going to get married, people are still going to do yard work. And this way they’re not having to go out and buy their own equipment, and they don’t have to store it and put a large investment into it.”

The Hayden location has been well received, Haiar said, noting customers came from Sandpoint to Coeur d’Alene. And while their company does provide rental equipment across state line for events such as the Spokane Ronald McDonald House annual polo fundraiser, the new location is an investment in growth opportunities.

“We needed to get back into the Spokane market – we knew there were people who didn’t know about us or thought we were too far,” Haiar said.

He and his partners duplicated their fleet of rental equipment and event items and purchased the property for construction of the new steel building that boasts a 40-by-50-foot showroom and a 60-by-120-foot indoor storage facility. The site also has a large, outdoor fenced storage area.

Haiar said their rental pricing is comparable to other area rental companies and he and his partners hope Lake City Rental stands out for the quality merchandise and friendly and reliable service.
