CV routs Shadle

Justin Walker started a series of four straight pins – sandwiched around a forfeit – that carried Central Valley to a 55-16 rout of visiting Shadle Park in Greater Spokane League wrestling action Tuesday night.

Trailing Shadle’s Ryan Nelson 5-3 at the end of the first round in the 160-pound match, Walker’s pin at 3:20 broke a 16-all tie after the Highlanders (3-3) had won the first three weight classes. Nick Beeler followed with a 32-second pin of Shadle’s Luke Miller at 171 and the Bears (6-1) didn’t lose another match.

University 47, Mt. Spokane 12: The Titans won eight of the first nine matches and cruised to victory over the Wildcats at University.

Great Northern League

Deer Park 62, Medical Lake 12: Aaron Frank’s pin at 160 pounds got the homestanding Stags (5-0) off to a fast start against Medical Lake (2-3).

The Cardinals’ Dylan Usselman posted the night’s fastest fall, however, pinning Avery Theeman in 69 seconds at 103.

Clarkston 57, Pullman 24: The Bantams closed the match with eight consecutive wins – including pins at 145 by Matt Powell, 160 by Zane Earl, Gabe Hocum at 189, Michael Gireth at 215 and Devin Norland at 285 – to overcome the Greyhounds in Clarkston. Pullman led 18-0 early.
