Sunshine Gardens marks 60th year

UNIVERSITY – Sunshine Gardens, 10410 E. Ninth Ave., will celebrate its 60th anniversary on July 24.

An open house will be from 2 to 5 p.m. A ribbon cutting ceremony and rededication will be held 3:30 p.m. Tours of the campus will be provided throughout the afternoon.

St. George’s offers tuition scholarship

SPOKANE COUNTY – Scholarship applications are being accepted for new freshmen and sophomores applying for admission to St. George’s School. Depending on the need, the scholarships could amount to as much as $12,500 per year for three or four years.

The funding for the scholarships comes from the Deena Barber Memorial Scholarship Fund, a $50,000 scholarship raised in memory of the high school history teacher who died before school began in 2008.
