Jason Pitt, 31, has moved up in the world. He started working in golf at Spokane’s Pine Acres par 3 golf course when he was 15 and stuck with it there for six years. The 1 handicapper turned professional in the year 2000 and attained PGA status in 2006. He’s 31 now, and is the golf pro and general manager at the 27-hole Chewelah Golf and Country Club, 45 minutes north of Spokane. He teaches, of course, but says a big part of his job is member relations. A Spokane native, Jason is a graduate of Mead High School and Spokane Community College. In addition to golf, his hobbies are skiing, bowling and fishing. He warms up in Phoenix for at least part of the winter. Jason is engaged to Anna Johnson, and his work is cut out for him with her, because she’s a beginning golfer. Here’s what he carries: a Calloway F1-5 driver and a Callaway fairway wood. His hybrids are Pings, irons and wedges are Titleist, and his putter is a Scotty Cameron. His best tip is, “Bring your fairway woods back low and slow. It’s your best chance for success.”
