Group spending on signature collection
SPOKANE VALLEY – People who want to disincorporate the city of Spokane Valley have paid $2,605 so far to signature gatherers.
Citizens for Disincorporation reported the expenditure Saturday as an in-kind donation from another organization, Friends of Spokane Valley. Treasurer Dorothy Dieni said Citizens for Disincorporation has received a total of $3,210 from Friends of Spokane Valley.
Citizens for Disincorporation has collected $10,577 in cash and in-kind services since it was formed on Feb. 24, including $4,879 in May.
Dieni reported that all expenditures on behalf of the campaign totaled $9,729 by Saturday. Including the donated signature-gathering, expenditures in May came to $7,189, leaving a cash balance of $847.
Much of Citizens for Disincorporation’s spending in May was for yard signs and advertisements in The Spokesman-Review. Dieni’s report also shows payments of $471 and $249, both on May 21, to Mario Montague, 11108 E. Fourth Ave., for signature gathering.
