Photos of Walgreens robber released
Surveillance photos of Tuesday’s gunpoint robbery at a north Spokane Walgreens have been released.
The photos show a young man in a blue and white hat walking into the pharmacy at 2105 E. Wellesley Ave. about 5:02 p.m.
Police say that man pointed a black handgun at an employee and left with bottles of the powerful prescription painkiller OxyContin.
The man in the photos had black hair and a black goatee and wore dark pants, white tennis shoes and a dark, unzipped jacket.
The company that makes OxyContin, Purdue Pharma, is offering a $1,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest.
Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (509) 327-5111 or submit tips online at www.crimestoppersinlandnorthwest.org.
Police anticipate the photos - which show the accused robber’s face clearly - will lead to a quick arrest, said Lt. Dave McGovern.
Tips poured in following the June 7 robbery at the South Hill Walgreens, leading to the arrest of a 23-year-old suspect last week.
