Golf tournament, breakfast next weekend

The Liberty Lake/ MeadowWood Men’s Golf Club opening tournament day will be April 4 at MeadowWood Golf Course in Liberty Lake, beginning with breakfast at 6:30 a.m. The tournament will begin with a shotgun start at 8 a.m.

Participants must sign up in advance. A sign up sheet is posted in the MeadowWood pro shop. Players must pay their 2009 dues prior to the event and have an established USGA handicap.

The MeadowWood Ladies 18-hole Golf Club will begin their season Wednesday.

Registration will be at Meadowwood at 7:30 a.m., followed by a tee off at 8:30 a.m.

Parks and Rec plan environment event

The city of Spokane Valley’s Parks and Recreation staff will host “Spring into Action: A Celebration of Environmental Awareness.”

Events take place Saturday, April 18 from 10 a.m. to noon at the Mirabeau Point Park picnic shelter area at 13500 E. Mirabeau Parkway.
