Neighborhoods USA needs conference volunteers

The 2009 Neighborhoods USA Conference runs Wednesday through Saturday, May 23 at the Spokane Convention Center, 334 W. Spokane Falls Blvd.

Helpers are needed for the 5K run/walk on May 23, from 6:30-10 a.m. for check-in and also to set up the route.

Non-conference-goers can do the 5K run for $15.

Pick up registration forms at the Office of Neighborhood Services or at area gyms and shops, or register in person on the morning of the run in front of the Convention Center. Pre-registration guarantees a T-shirt in your size.

No walk-up registration will be allowed at the conference site.

Exhibit Hall monitors to help with conference workshops are needed on May 20, May 21 and May 22.

Conference registration volunteers are needed on May 21 from 1:30-4:30 p.m.

Airport greeters are needed on May 20 for three shifts: noon-3:30 p.m., 3-7:30 p.m. and 7-10 p.m.

Volunteers who can be on call or fill in as needed during the entire conference are also welcome.

All volunteers must attend a short volunteer orientation at the Chase Gallery at City Hall today or Friday at 5 p.m. to get badges and a volunteer T-shirt.

To volunteer call (509) 625-6730 or e-mail Sandy Scott at Spokane City Neighborhood Services at sscott@spokanecity.org.
