Spokane airport using backup runway

Associated Press
Flights at Spokane International Airport will be routed to the backup runway for the next four months as the main runway is extended. The main runway closed on Friday, and will be extended by 2,000 feet. It is due to reopen on Sept. 15. The change means approaching aircraft will be flying over Spokane’s South Hill neighborhoods. The work is costing about $30 million.
