Forest Road 2220, the main Colville National Forest access to the Salmo Priest Wilderness area, Gypsy Meadows, and the Salmo Trail, is currently obstructed by a very large piece of rock that slid downhill and came to rest near mile post 4.0.
The rock is blocking the entire road making all motorized through- traffic impossible.
The obstruction is above the northernmost junction between 2220 and upper end of Road 2212 (Highline Road).
Forest officials believe it could be at least a month before resources are available to break the obstruction up and haul it away.
