St. Cloud marks 100th
EMERSON/GARFIELD – The 100th anniversary of the St. Cloud Building, 1510 N. Monroe St., will be celebrated Saturday, with a reception, from noon to 4 p.m.
Building owners are inviting community members who have lived, worked or provided professional services to the building to share memories and stories.
Attendees of the reception will have the opportunity to sign a banner that will be saved in a time capsule for the next 100 years. Cookies and hot cider will be served.

Shop girls get day out
HILLYARD – Get pampered on Saturday during the Hillyard, East Sprague and North Monroe Business centers fifth annual Girls Day Out.
From 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., the three Spokane neighborhood business centers will cater especially to the ladies.
Girls Day Out has partnered with Inland Imaging’s “Every Woman Can” campaign. The program encourages women over 40 to have annual mammogram screening. For more information, visit www.girlsday outspokane.com.
Kettle Kick-off planned
LOGAN – The Salvation Army will host its first Kettle Kick-Off Benefit Soup Luncheon at Northern Quest Resort and Casino next Thursday in the Pend Oreille Pavilion from noon to 1 p.m.
The Kettle Kick-Off marks the beginning of the annual fundraising Red Kettle Campaign, which starts Nov. 20. The Salvation Army will deck the store fronts of more than 55 local grocery stores and retailers with holiday cheer. This year’s goal is $300,000.

Second Chance onstage
WEST HILLS – Holy Names Music Center, 3910 W. Custer Drive, will present the Second Chance Orchestra for beginning adults in concert Tuesday at 7 p.m. in McNalley Recital Hall.
The concert will feature the cello section in “Courante,” by J.C. Bach and vocalist Cairdwin Irving-Spatz will perform “La Vie En Rose.”
The music center will also present a master class on the Alexander Technique with William Conable on Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon.
