Recordable books going to troops

Eye Consultants is working with Providence Physician Services, Mark’s Hallmark and Fairchild Air Force Base to raise money to purchase copies of the “Night Before Christmas” storybook for troops overseas.

The books will be sent by Fairchild to servicemen and women in Iraq and Afghanistan. Deployed family members can record themselves reading the story and send it home for Christmas. Mark’s Hallmark has reduced the cost of the book from $32 to about $20 per book. The goal is raise enough money to purchase 350 books.

Donations can be made at any Washington Trust Bank or Amicus Federal Credit Union under “Christmas for Our Troops” account or at all Mark’s Hallmark stores or Eye Consultants, 235 E. Rowan Ave., Suite 107.

Deadline for donations is next week.
