In brief: Children’s home sells holiday trees

PASADENA PARK – Residents at the Hutton Settlement Children’s Home will be selling fresh-cut Christmas trees beginning Friday.

The Hutton Valley Christmas Tree Farm is at 10225 E. Upriver Drive, north of Millwood in Spokane Valley, and will be open Friday and Saturday from noon to 4 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The farm will be open Monday through Friday from 2 to 7 p.m., and Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. until the trees are gone.

Trees for sale include grand firs, noble firs, and Douglas firs.

Proceeds support Hutton Settlement Children’s Home, which seeks to provide a stable, family-style environment for children who are displaced from their families.

Group to perform ‘Babes in Toyland’

EMERSON/GARFIELD – The Spokane Children’s Theatre will perform “Babes in Toyland,” beginning Friday at 7 p.m. at the Lair Auditorium at Spokane Community College, 1810 N. Greene St.

Other performances are Saturday and Sunday at 1 p.m.; Dec. 5 and Dec. 6 at 1 p.m. and 4 p.m.; Dec. 12 at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. (this performance will include signing for the hearing impaired); and Dec. 13 at 1 p.m.
