In brief: Man suspected in wife’s slaying
A 68-year-old Marcus, Wash., man is expected to appear in court today on charges that he shot his wife to death over the weekend.
Craig Raymond Cosby was arrested Saturday evening in the front yard of his home in Marcus. Deputies with the Stevens County Sheriff’s Office had responded to a 911 call reporting a homicide at 5 p.m. and found Cosby in his front yard and his wife, Susan May Cosby, 53, inside the home, dead of several gunshot wounds.
Craig Cosby was booked into the Stevens County Jail on a charge of first-degree murder and is being held on $250,000 bail, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
Three arrested in stabbing
Spokane police arrested three suspects in a north Spokane assault late Saturday night in which a man was stabbed.
Officers responded after a woman called about 10:30 p.m. to say her friend had been stabbed while at a convenience store at Indiana Avenue and Hamilton Street.
Police later arrested three men near Francis Avenue and Regal Street on charges of first-degree assault.
The victim was treated for his wounds, which were described as significant.
BIA, tribes sign pact on center
FORT HALL, Idaho – The Bureau of Indian Affairs has signed an agreement with the Shoshone-Bannock Tribes to help pay for operations at the tribes’ $19.7 million Justice Center.
The Justice Center will consist of three courtrooms and separate detention areas that will be able to hold up to 80 adults and 20 juveniles.
