In brief: Reward offered for tip on man

Crime Stoppers of the Inland Northwest is offering a cash reward for information that leads to the arrest of a man wanted in connection with the burglaries of two Coeur d’Alene area churches this week.

Sometime between Wednesday night and Thursday morning, police say, someone broke into the First Christian Church, 610 N. Fourth St., and St. Thomas Catholic Church, 919 E. Indiana, and stole cash, keys, food, guitars and tools.

Police have released a photo of one man caught on camera during the burglaries.

Anyone with information is asked to call (866) 667-2111. Callers do not have to leave their own name to be eligible for the reward but should leave a code name or number.

Sex offenders living in Cheney

The Spokane County Sheriff’s Office wants the public to be aware of two level 3 sex offenders now living in Cheney.

Richard Charles Chadderdon, 77, registered an address in the 2000 block of First Street. Chadderdon served 10 years in prison for first-degree child molestation of a 3-year-old girl. He is not under any supervision.

Marcus A. McElrath, 47, is living in the 10000 block of Chippewa Court. He was charged in Walla Walla in 2003 for the second- degree assault with sexual motivation of an adult woman. McElrath is under state Department of Corrections supervision.

Neither offender is wanted by law enforcement. level 3 sex offenders are considered most likely to reoffend.
