Trojans edge Vikings

Wesley Billingslea found the net with a header in the 70th minute off a free kick from Dalton Van Der Pol to lift the Post Falls Trojans (2-0, 1-0) to a 2-1 victory over the visiting Coeur d’Alene Vikings (3-1-1, 0-1) in Inland Empire League boys soccer play on Tuesday.

Elsewhere in the 5A IEL, Chris Wheelock scored two goals and Donald Osborne-Moss had a goal and an assist to spark the Lake City Timberwolves (1-0, 1-0) to a 6-0 win over the visiting Lewiston Bengals (0-1, 0-1).

Girls soccer

Elli Kiselica, Alicia Mertz and Anna Giesemer each scored first-half goals to propel the Sandpoint Bulldogs (3-0, 2-0) to a 4-2 win over the host Moscow Bears (2-1, 0-1) in 4A IEL. … In 5A IEL, Whitney Wood scored the go-ahead goal in the 46th minute and the Coeur d’Alene Vikings (2-1, 1-0) beat the visiting Post Falls Trojans (1-1, 0-1) 3-1.
