Eagles rout Highland
Three players rushed for more than 100 yards and a fourth had 99 as St. John-Endicott Eagles opened the football season with a 60-20 rout of Highland on Saturday.
No scoring plays were available, but that was the only thing that came up short for SJE.
Dylan Schmick ran for 178 yards, Cole McCanna had 110 and Kyle Raynor 102.
For good measure, Trevor Johnson added 99.
Highland had two players get hurt and the 8-man game finished with the teams playing 7-on-7.
Oroville 35, Republic 20: Preston Iverson rushed for one touchdown and threw for 119 yards and two touchdowns as the Hornets turned back the visiting Tigers on Friday. Oroville scored on two long runs in the fourth quarter to ice the win. Ryn Rollins rushed for 158 yards and Scotty Bacon 119 for Republic.
