Agreed Kansas State men’s basketball coach Bill Snyder agreed to a five-year contract Friday, giving him the opportunity to pull off another reclamation project after the program he built unraveled under Ron Prince. Snyder will be paid a base salary plus supplemental licensing payments totaling $1.85 million this season, $1.875 million next season, $1.925 million in 2011-12, $1.95 million in 2012-13 and $1.975 million in 2013-14.

Extended Michigan State University trustees have approved contract extensions through 2016 for men’s basketball coach Tom Izzo, football coach Mark Dantonio and A.D. Mark Hollis.

•Oklahoma State basketball coach Travis Ford has received a four-year contract extension designed to keep him through 2019.

Signed The Minnesota Timberwolves signed guard Ramon Sessions after the Milwaukee Bucks declined to match their $16 million, four-year contract offer to the restricted free agent.

Supported The chancellor of the University of Arkansas gave unqualified support to basketball coach John Pelphrey, calling him the man who is “going to turn it around” after police investigated three players over an alleged rape. Chancellor David Gearhart said he will remain in daily contact with athletic director Jeff Long as Long and Pelphrey weigh potential disciplinary action over the Aug. 27 incident.

Admitted Former NHL player Mike Danton said his father, not his agent, was the intended victim of a failed murder-for-hire plot that sent him to prison five years ago. Danton made the admission when he was granted full parole by the National Parole Board at Kingston, Ontario.

Filed Renault took Nelson Piquet Jr. to court over race-fixing allegations the French team said were used in an attempt to “blackmail” it into renewing the Formula One driver’s contract.

Died A North Carolina businessman who was a co-owner of the Charlotte Bobcats has died in a single-engine plane crash. Authorities say 49-year-old William “Skipper” Beck of Charlotte, N.C., died in the crash around 7:15 a.m. Friday at a local airport in Rock Hill, S.C., just across the state line from Charlotte.
