Suspected drug and theft ring raided

The Spokesman-Review
One man was arrested and another is wanted after a raid at several apartments Tuesday in Spokane Valley connected to a string of 30 burglaries and a methamphetamine drug ring. More than 50 investigators and officers were involved in the raid, serving search warrants at four apartments at 2820 N. Cherry and one at 9310 E. Montgomery. Officers recovered several stolen items including a shotgun, computers, camera and a small amount of marijuana, said Sgt. Dave Reagan, Spokane Valley Police spokesman. Arrested on suspicion of delivery of a controlled substance was Ryan J. Lund, 27. Robert R. Castillo, 35, is still wanted on suspicion of five counts of delivery of meth. The investigation began in August, after detectives noticed a spike in burglaries in the Pines Road/Interstate 90 corridor, Reagan said. Detectives believe a group of 13 and 14 year olds, working with adults, entered ground-floor apartments during the day when nobody was home, taking electronics and jewelry.
