Avista crews repairing broken gas line

Avista crews have secured a broken gas line break on the South Hill and are making repairs after city crews struck the two inch line about 2:15 p.m, a utility spokeswoman said. The broken line at 17th Avenue and Chestnut Street is affecting two residential customers, said Avista’s Debbie Simock. Avista expects repairs to be made about 5 p.m. Spokane Fire Department reports that area streets that had been closed have reopened.
