Hiding pair jailed on robbery counts

The Spokesman-Review
Two robbery suspects were found hiding in a Spokane Valley water park Tuesday after police say their getaway truck ran out of gas. The suspects, 25-year-old Joseph W. Boyce, aka Joseph Davis, and Jumah A. Robinson, 31, are accused of robbing a 29-year-old Spokane woman at gunpoint in the parking lot of the Albertson’s grocery store at Trent Avenue and Argonne Road on Tuesday. The woman thought she was to give the men, who police say she met a short time earlier, a ride, but the men stole her purse and backpack instead before they left in a white Chevy truck, police said. Police found the truck abandoned and out of fuel along eastbound Interstate 90 near Splash Down Water Park, then surrounded the park about 7:30 a.m. A K-9 tracked one suspect under a deck. The second suspect was found hiding in a slide tube, police said. Boyce and Robinson were booked into jail, each on one count of first-degree robbery.
